71st All India Cooperation Week-2024 has been organized across the state from November 14 to 20, MLA and President of Karnataka State Cooperation Mahamandal -GT Deve Gowda said.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Karnataka State Cooperative Mahamandal in the city today, he said that the inaugural program of this week was held on November 14, the birthday of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the week at Jnanajyoti hall in Bangalore at 11 am, dignitaries including MLAs, Ministers and officials of the Department of Cooperation will participate in the program.
The theme of this year’s All India Cooperative Week-2024 is “Role of Cooperatives in Building a Developed India”. The co-operation week programs which will be held on November 15 in Chitradurga, November 16 in Mangalore and November 17 in Bagalkot have been organized in a grand manner.
The Chief Minister will felicitate the achievers who have made significant achievements in the field of cooperation with the ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award at the Cooperation Week program to be held in Bagalkot on November 17. He said that the concluding ceremony was held in Bidar on November 18, Chikkamagalur on November 19 and Belgaum on November 20.
These seven days programs will be organized at the state, district, taluk and village levels and will be led by Karnataka State Cooperative Mahamandal, Apex Cooperative Organizations and Cooperative Department at the state level. At the district level, it will be conducted under the leadership of the District Cooperative Unions with the help of the Cooperative Department. More than 35 thousand cooperatives are expected to participate in this event. During this period, the development of cooperative sectors, their achievements and failures will be reviewed, he said.
The State Cooperative Mahamandal aims to provide crop loans of Rs 27 thousand crore to 36 lakh farmers this year for the development of farmers. It is targeted to enroll 41 lakh members under Yashasvani Arogya Praksha Yojana for members of cooperative societies and their dependent family members. There are 47,000 cooperative societies in the state engaged in active service, in which there are 2 crore 72 lakh members.
Dairy farming, agricultural co-operative system, town co-operative banks, non-agricultural co-operative societies are providing excellent service. As a result of this job creation, the GDP of the nation will increase. will increase. He said that it also plays an important role in women’s self-reliance.
