Belgaum/Bengaluru, October 04 (Karnataka News):
The government’s plan is to provide a medical college, hospital and super specialty hospital in every district of the state. In this regard, medical colleges have already been started in 22 districts. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that they will be started in the rest of the districts soon.
The Chief Minister, who laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Super Specialty Hospital building in Belgaum, the residential quarters for the house doctors, the city bus stand built under the Smart City project, the PM-U (Meru) building works of Rani Chennamma University and the road construction work from the highway to the university in the BIMS premises, said that the BIMS hospital, which was running slowly due to various reasons, has now been started with the necessary facilities. He said that doctors and medical staff will be recruited in a phased manner.
He expressed gratitude on behalf of the government for deputing doctors from the KLE organization and providing free services, providing good facilities to the poor, people from lower communities, and those deprived of opportunities to eliminate inequality.
Buddha, Basava, Ambedkar and Gandhiji worked hard to make the most marginalized people of the society self-reliant for the creation of an equal society. The government has formulated many programs to eliminate inequality. It is the responsibility and duty of the government to provide the best medical facilities to the poor.
Lakhs of people are being helped from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, and good treatment is being provided free of cost by the establishment of such a super specialty hospital. The public should take advantage of this.
One hundred electric buses for Belgaum city:
A Belgaum city bus stand has been built under the Smart City project. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that one hundred electric buses will soon arrive in Belgaum city.
Education is power. It is possible to become independent through education. Therefore, the government’s wish is that Dalits and backward classes should get higher education. In this regard, many programs are being organized by universities.
Many welfare schemes were implemented during the previous government’s tenure for the benefit of the poor. This time, the self-reliance and economic development of the poor have been facilitated through guarantee schemes.
Under the Shakti Yojana, a record 565 crore women have travelled free of cost by purchasing zero-cost tickets. 1.25 lakh families are being given Rs 2,000 each every month. Apart from this, efforts are being made to improve the lives of people through Annabhagya, Grihajyoti and Yuvanidhi schemes and thereby eliminate inequality in the society.
Heavy rains have caused extensive crop damage in North Karnataka, including Belgaum. Crops have been damaged in an area of over one million hectares across the state.
Relief after crop damage survey:
A total of Rs 17,000 is being provided as compensation for drought-related crop damage, including Rs 8.5 thousand as per the NDRF guidelines. He said that development works have been done along with the Pancha Guarantee Scheme that came to power in 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil said that BIMS Super Specialty Hospital, which has state-of-the-art facilities, is a boon for the poor. The poor cannot afford to spend lakhs of rupees in private hospitals for treatment; hence, the super specialty has been established for them.
KLE has joined hands with BIMS Super Speciality Hospital by deputing 20 doctors on a rotational basis. A cancer hospital will be set up on the premises of BIMS Hospital at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
The goal was to start a government medical college in every district. So far, 22 government medical colleges have been started, and two more colleges will be started in the state soon, which will facilitate the children of the poor to get medical education. This will also provide quality treatment to the people.
