Karnataka is already a world-class player in the IT-BT sector. Now, our government’s goal is to make the state a global leader in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Today, the Department of Economics, Information Technology and Biotechnology participated in the inauguration of the 7th edition of GAFX at The Lalit Ashok Hotel in Bengaluru, inaugurated the program and then addressed the program.
Chief Minister, launched the new ‘AVGC-XR Policy 2.0: To give a greater impetus to the creative industry, the state government has implemented the ‘AVGC-XR Policy 2.0’. He said that this policy will provide more incentives, subsidies and technical support to startups.
Lakhs of job opportunities: The government aims to create over 30,000 new jobs in this sector in the next five years. He expressed confidence that Karnataka will become a favourite destination for creative artists and technical experts.
Regional parity: Creative technology should not be limited to Bengaluru. Priority will be given to regional job creation by setting up ‘Centers of Excellence’ in cities like Mysore, Mangalore and Hubballi-Dharwad.
Emphasis on skill development: The government is committed to providing specialized training in the field of animation and gaming to ITI and polytechnic students. This will prepare skilled human resources for the global market.
Use of Kannada and Culture: He called on entrepreneurs to take our rich folk art and stories to the global stage through animation and gaming.Our government provides equal opportunities not only to technology but also to creativity. It is a matter of pride for us that the hard work of Kannadigas is behind the world’s biggest cinemas. Our government will provide all the necessary cooperation to this industry, the Chief Minister said.
