Bangalore, October 07, 2025: Omkar, a Grade 10 student at Canadian International School (CIS), Bangalore, has earned international acclaim, hitting all the right notes – with a string of remarkable achievements that place him on the global music map.
Omkar was recently awarded a Distinction in Music Composition & Theory (Grade 5) by the Royal Schools of Music, London, a recognition that highlights his strong foundation in both technical knowledge and creative expression. He also secured a Distinction in Violin Performance, further demonstrating his skill and discipline as a musician. Earlier this year, Omkar took center stage at the historic Godollo Palace in Hungary, where his violin recital drew admiration in one of Europe’s renowned cultural venues.
Speaking about these achievements, Omkar said:“Music has taught me discipline, joy, and resilience. I hope my journey shows other young musicians that with dedication and support, it’s possible to turn passion into global opportunities. CIS has given me the space to balance academics with music. The support of my teachers has played a big role in helping me achieve these milestones.”
“Violin entered Omkar’s life as his personal choice when he used to accompany me to my violin classes. Now, the violin almost fills the entire house. Also, Omkar has discovered the joy of not only violin playing but also composing Western Classical Music by himself as a fun and interesting hobby to indulge in his spare time. We are indebted to both Omkar’s Violin teacher, Mr Andrew and Ms Allison at CIS who have helped and encouraged him immensely in this journey .” said Suvabrata Sinha, Omkar’s Father.
