Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that education is the only way to empower society economically and socially
Speaking at a ‘CSR conference for education’ at a private hotel in the city today, he said that education is the only way to create a better future for the society and better future individuals. This will not only help people to set up business but also improve the economic condition of the country. A portal on Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) called ‘Akanka’sha has been prepared.
Corporates are required to spend 2% of their profits as CSR under the Companies Act 2013. Under this, in the last 5 to 6 years, Rs 3667 crore has been spent on education, Rs 1700 crore on environment and Rs 956 crore on health. To improve the quality of education of children, everyone should work hard to ensure that children do not stay away from school. He felt that a well-equipped library, laboratory, computer and other facilities should be provided for them.
