Actions are taken by the Department of Food Safety and Quality to comply with the rules and regulations of the Food Safety and Quality Act of the Government of India.
To ensure on the spot whether food raw materials/ prepared food items are safe for consumption, Department of Food Safety and Quality conducts some easy quick tests using Magic Box and Rapid Test Kits approved by FSSAI. Practically decided to start from October 25 in some prestigious malls in Bangalore.Malls in Bangalore such as Vaishnavi Sapphire Center Tumkur Road, Elements Mall Thanisandra, Phoenix Mall of Asia Bellary Road, Meenakshi Mall Bannerghatta Road, Shobha Mall Church Street, Central Mall Bellandur, Gopalan Signature Mall Benniganahalli, Nexus Forum Mall Koramangala, Bharatiya Mall Of Bangalore Thanisandra and GT World Mall Magadi Road Here the program is being started on an experimental basis.
In these malls, food items used every day such as pulses, sugar, cooking oil, tea-powder, salt, milk and milk products like ghee, paneer, butter, vegetables, coriander powder, etc. Quality of food items like drinking water can be ascertained by quick tests. In recent times, more and more cases of food adulteration are coming to light, and the awareness among the masses is also increasing day by day. In recent times, common people focus on saving time and money by getting the raw materials required for daily food preparation at one place.
Visiting large food stores is common. Even though it is every consumer’s right to have clean food, we are consuming it day by day without information about the safety of the food we consume.
An innovative program is being launched for the first time in the country by the Department of Food Safety and Quality to instill awareness, awareness and confidence among the masses, and the public will take good health with their cooperation and enthusiasm and prevent food adulteration.
