New Delhi August 27, 2023.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, India is organizing the G20 Technical Workshop on “One Health – Opportunities & Challenges” at Bengaluru during 29-31 August 2023. About 100 delegates shall be participating in this three-day event, which include foreign delegates from G20 member states, Guests from invited countries, International Organizations, Line Ministries and Keynote Speakers etc.
Senior Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and other Ministries would also be attending the meeting to deliberate on the various issues of agriculture research and development primarily on One Health related issues in Global context. The Workshop would deliberate on different thematic areas Viz., Human-Animal-Ecosystem Interface, Emerging and re-emerging diseases, transboundary diseases; transboundary and zoonotic importance, Food safety and Anti-Microbial-Resistance and New Strategic Partnership for Global Health. There will be presentations by eminent speakers on the above thematic areas. The three-day event will culminate with the key policy recommendations that are relevant for addressing various challenges in One Health. The Workshop aims to bring together all the relevant elements of One Health encompassing Human, Animal, Plant and Environmental Health to ensure welfare and wellbeing of all living beings on the Planet for a harmonious co-existence.
The Department has made several arrangements to give a taste of the unique experience of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage to the foreign delegates. Adequate arrangements for their security and safety at the Meeting Venue and Hotels of their stay have also been made.
The three-day event will begin with Inaugural session which shall be graced by Hon’ble Union Minister and Ministers of State, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India. The theme of the G20 Indian Presidency is One Earth, One Family and One Future which celebrate the spirit of togetherness and harmony amongst us to ensure a bright future for the world.
