The introduction of an all-electric fleet underscores the hotel’s dedication to clean mobility, offering zero-emission transportation options for guests. Complementing this, three EV charging station have been installed on-site to support electric vehicles, encouraging the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation. Grand Mercure Bengaluru Gopalan Mall is also powered by renewable energy, with 95% of its electricity sourced from windmills, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
The hotel’s efforts extend to energy conservation with LED lighting and motion sensors across public areas, optimizing energy usage and reducing emissions. Water conservation remains a cornerstone of its sustainability strategy, with rainwater harvesting systems, aerators on taps, and dual-flush systems contributing to efficient water management. The property’s in-house water bottling plant eliminates the need for 50,000 plastic bottles per month, while the removal of single-use plastics in all areas reflects its commitment to reducing waste.
Solar energy plays a vital role in the hotel’s operations, with solar water heaters generating 95,000 units of energy monthly, saving approximately 60 liters of diesel. In addition, the hotel maintains a 500 sq. ft. herb garden nurtured with recycled water and compost derived from food waste, further supporting circular practices.
