Bengaluru, April 10, 2026: Greenwood High International School is hosting its Sports Summer Camp 2026, a three-week high-performance, multi-sport programme designed to deliver a globally benchmarked athletic development experience for school students. Participants will train across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including Athletics, Football, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, Hockey, Tennis, Swimming, Shooting, and Golf. Scheduled from April 9 to April 29, 2026, at the institution’s campus in Sarjapur, the weekday program (8:15 AM – 10:30 AM) is structured to promote physical literacy, sport-specific excellence, and competitive readiness within a professionally managed environment.
The camp is organised around a three-phase performance framework, aligned with international youth development principles. The first phase, which is the foundation phase, focuses on the development of core movement competencies including agility, balance, coordination, and mobility. Then the development phase provides a focused sport-specific training combined with tactical understanding and game intelligence. Lastly, the performance phase enables application through competitive scenarios, match play, and performance-based learning.
As part of the programme, students will also participate in sessions conducted by international athletes and experienced coaches under a dedicated guest coach initiative. The line-up includes former New Zealand international cricketer Mathew Sinclair, Olympic shooter Prakash Nanjappa, international badminton coach Vijay Lancy, international hockey player Sandeep Somesh, golf coach Tarun Sardesai, and FIBA-certified basketball coach G. R. L. Prasad. These sessions are intended to provide exposure to advanced training methods and competitive sporting environments.
The camp adopts a holistic training approach that focuses on multiple dimensions of athletic development. Students will build technical proficiency through advanced skill development and sport-specific training, while also enhancing tactical awareness with a focus on decision-making, strategy, and in-game intelligence. Equal emphasis is placed on mental conditioning, including the development of focus, resilience, confidence, and the ability to perform under pressure. Physical development is integrated throughout the programme, with training designed to improve strength, endurance, agility, and support injury prevention. All sessions are conducted under qualified coaching supervision, ensuring a structured, safe environment with clearly defined and measurable outcomes.
“The Summer Camp reflects our belief that sport plays a vital role in shaping character, discipline, and resilience. By combining structured training with exposure to international coaching expertise, we aim to provide students with an enriching experience that goes beyond recreation to meaningful skill development,” said Mrs. Niru Agarwal, Managing Trustee of Greenwood High International School.
The camp is open to students seeking to stay active and engaged during the summer while building a strong foundation in sports. Through initiatives like the Summer Sports Camp, Greenwood High continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution fostering well-rounded development, empowering students to pursue excellence in both academics and athletics.
