Karnataka International Travel Expo will be held in Bengaluru for 3 days from February 26 to 28 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, said Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation and Tourism H.K. Patil.
Today, in the Vidhana Soudha assembly chamber, the Tourism Department, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and other organizations organized the second edition of the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE)-2025 from February 26 to 28 in the year 2024-2025, and spoke at the curtain raiser and launch of the new KITE brochure.
The Karnataka International Travel Expo was organized in 2019 and was a success. However, the second edition of the Karnataka International Travel Expo could not be held due to Corona and other reasons. He said that this event will establish Karnataka as a major global tourism destination.
Tourists coming to Karnataka for business should be encouraged and supported. This program will also benefit our businessmen. All stakeholders in the tourism sector should make the tourism map of our Karnataka state shine. Let us try our best to keep our state at the forefront of domestic and international tourism through equality, partnership, coexistence, equal opportunities, goals and objectives, he said.
The young generation is made aware of the intellectual and scientific achievements of the state through educational tours. Spiritual tourism guides people to find peace of mind through the holy pilgrimage sites of the state. Hampi, Halebidu, Somnathpur are world heritage sites. Lakkundi, Karnataka’s 320 km long coastline, and other places have immense potential to become globally renowned tourist destinations, he said.
We will showcase the diverse and unique tourism products of our state through the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE)-2025 from February 26 to 28. Not only the famous tourist destinations of the state, but also lesser-known tourist destinations will be showcased on this occasion. In this, 150 international buyers from 30 countries and 250 Indian tour operators are expected to register for purchase, he said.
Tourists should be gathered and introduced to the Vidhana Soudha. When tourists see the Vidhana Soudha hall, it is like seeing history. Several pictures have been placed in every corner of the corridor of the Vidhana Soudha. The walls themselves speak to show the ancient culture to tourists. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary to the Government, Shalini Rajneesh said that the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE)-2025 will benefit hotel and travel agency entrepreneurs, national and international citizens. The trade turnover generated by this event will increase the GDP of our state. She said that everyone should take advantage of this expo.
Secretary of the Tourism Department, Mrs. Salma K. Fahim, in her introductory speech, said that Karnataka International Travel Expo – (KITE)-2025 is a bridge for tourism entrepreneurs and consumers. It is a good platform for various business transactions through KITE. She called for making this Expo a success by implementing the concept of Karnataka State – One State Many Worlds.
The program was attended by senior dignitaries and officials including Tourism Department Director Dr. K.V. Rajendra, Karnataka Tourism Society President Shyamaraju.
