Drug-free Karnataka:
As Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said, many programs have been launched to make Karnataka a drug-free state. He said that to systematically eradicate the scourge of drug addiction, which is adversely affecting the youth of the state, the state police department has launched a project called “Sanmitra” with the aim of making police personnel friends with addicts and turning them into drug-free people.
The city police has made excellent progress in combating drug crimes. In 2025, 1491 Indian nationals and 52 foreign nationals were arrested. Drugs worth about Rs 160 crore were seized, he said.
The state police are working with the government with utmost honesty and commitment. The aim of the police department should be people-friendly and should be citizen-centric so that the citizens are not disturbed in any way. We are working with the aim of ensuring that no untoward incident takes place in the society and have implemented new innovations and made many changes. In order to maintain law and order, the punishment should be limited to those who have committed the crime without disturbing others.
