KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to deliver 60 elevators and escalators for the Chengdu Magic Cube mixed-use development in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
The Chengdu Magic Cube will become a 1,015,930 square meter urban complex combining cultural amenities, as well as office, hotel and residential facilities. The Magic Cube Performance Center will be the focal point, which is to be surrounded by several other buildings including two 220 meter-tall office towers.
KONE will equip the office towers with 44 KONE MiniSpace™ elevators, 10 KONE MonoSpace® elevators and six KONE TransitMaster™110 escalators. 40 of the elevators will be equipped with the KONE Destination Control System to reduce waiting and traveling times, as well as the KONE E-link™ equipment monitoring system. The contract also includes two years of standard maintenance.

The project is estimated to be completed in mid-2021, and it is developed by Chengdu Merchants Yuankang Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. The main architect is Chengdu Jizhun Fangzhong Architectural Design.
KONE booked the order in the third quarter of 2020.
