01 June 2019, Bengaluru: The Halasuru Lake Residents Welfare Association (HRWA) partnered with reputed lake conservationist, Anand Malligavad and the Prestige Group to organize a lake clean-up drive to help clean the surrounding areas of one of Bengaluru’s most beloved landmarks, Ulsoor Lake. The drive took place on Saturday – 01 June 2019 from 8am – 11am. The drive witnessed close to 300 people joining hands to do their bit for the community. The garbage collected at the end of the 3 hours was approximately 10 tractors worth, which was then accumulated in one place for proper disposal.
Anand Malligavad has been successful in rejuvenating other lakes in the city. His mission is to revive 45 city lakes by 2025.
In 2016, the BBMP had signed an MoU with the Prestige Group for the maintenance and upkeep of areas around Ulsoor Lake, Swami Vivekananda (Kensington) Park and margin lands along Gangadhar Chetty Road for a period of 3 years.
