Karnataka State Legal Service Authority (KSLSA) actively participates in organizing large-scale road safety awareness programs, often collaborating with other departments for month-long campaigns, like the National Road Safety Month in January 2025, focusing on legal awareness, traffic rule compliance, preventing accidents, and ensuring safe commutes through community outreach, legal aid clinics, and digital campaign.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, Karnataka will observe National Road Safety Month from January 1 to January 31, 2026, with an extensive state-wide awareness and enforcement campaign.
The 2026 Road Safety Month will be conducted under the guidance of Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and Patron-in-Chief of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), Justice Anu Shivaramann, Executive Chairperson, KSLSA, and Advocate General K. Shashikiran Shetty.
The month-long campaign will be jointly implemented by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Transport Department, Police Department, Health Department, Education Department, Public Works Department, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), district administrations, District Legal Services Authorities, bar associations, and insurance sector representatives, covering taluk, district, and state levels.
The preparatory meeting was attended by senior judicial officers, transport commissioners, police officials, road safety authority representatives, engineers from road-owning agencies, and office bearers of the Bengaluru Advocates Association. District Legal Services Authority officials participated via video conferencing.
Officials reiterated that the primary objective of Road Safety Month 2026 is to prevent road accidents and save precious human lives through awareness, enforcement, and coordinated governance.
