In a touching tribute to Indian tradition and the enduring spirit of brotherhood, the MARATHA Light Infantry Regimental Centre celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great zeal and reverence. The festival, signifying the sacred bond of protection between brothers and sisters, was marked by a vibrant participation from all ranks and the civilian fraternity.
227 school children, ladies from NGOs including Inner Wheel, and families of serving personnel came together to tie Rakhis on the wrists of young Agniveers and posted troops. The soldiers received the sacred threads with pride and humility, reaffirming their solemn pledge to protect the motherland and its citizens from all forms of threats, both internal and external.
This celebration reflected the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. By celebrating Raksha Bandhan within its ranks, the MARATHA LIRC reinforced the values of unity, mutual respect, and civil-military harmony, while fostering emotional bonds that go beyond the battlefield.
The event stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s resolve to remain rooted in tradition while continuing its noble mission of national service.
