Before deciding to leave the state of Karnataka to find work abroad, give information to R.N.I.the Vice-President of the Committee, Dr. Aarti Krishna said.
Speaking at a press conference held today in the Non-resident Indian Committee’s room to provide information about the rescue of a person who was cheated into working in Saudi Arabia through unauthorized agencies, he told the public not to be fooled by their words without verifying the authenticity of the agents and to seek the help of official agents or relevant government departments.
About eleven months ago, a resident of Ramanagara, Mohammad Ashpak, was hired by an agent named Mohammad Peer in Shivajinagar, Bengaluru, believing that he would offer him a job as an assistant in an Amazon company in Saudi Arabia for about Rs. 1 lakhs received and sent
Mohammad Ashpak was not given work and salary for the first 2 months after moving to Saudi Arabia. Then he was given a job in another company for about 7 months. During the said period the work is performed under house arrest. After that, he was forced out of there and remained without work for about 3 months. In most of these cases, they suffer without salary and food as per the agreement.
Members of KNRI Jeddah Kannada Sangh found him while he was spending almost two months in a nearby mosque without salary and money to come back to India. Later, Mohammad Ashpak’s mother and family visited the Non-Resident Indian Committee office and requested to bring their son to India
On Sadari’s request, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia responded immediately by telephoning, and the Non-Resident Indian Committee contacted the Jeddah Counseling General and arrangements were made to get the exit pass quickly. He said that KNRI Jeddah Kannada Sangh would cover the cost of air ticket and return to India.
Mohammad Ashpak who was defrauded and his mother Smt. Noorban said in a press conference thanked Chairman of Non-resident Indian Committee and Honorable Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Vice President Dr. Aarti Krishna.
