4 May 2018, Bangalore:On her third visit to the country, this time as the International Brand Ambassador of the TCS World 10K, Mary was delighted to be in a city sharing,” I’m very happy to be here. It’s my first time being an ambassador to a running event and I’m looking forward to Race Day and I’m happy to be back in India. I love the country, the people are so kind and warm and the food’s really good. This is my third time in India and my first time in Bangalore and I’m very excited to see the city and be a part of its culture. It’s a privilege for me to be here and I feel like there isn’t enough time for me to see everything, so I’ll just have to come back again.”
Mary who was introduced to tennis at the age of 10, grew quickly in the ranks, soon beccoming becoming Number 1 in Florida and the US and Number 2 in the World in the Junior circuit, admitted that it was a lot of hard work, “ It’s tough being a strongly ranked junior, because of how much you need to work and sacrifice, especially as a kid, but I believe that no matter what, you should do something because you love it and have a passion for it, because that would keep you going through the tough times. Having a dream is important, something to look forward to and something that keeps you going.”
Mary, who has running in her DNA shared her excitement to be in Bangalore for the World’s Premiere 10K, The TCS World 10K, concluding, “I would like to congratulate Procam International for the work that they do, it’s amazing. How it started and to see where it is today is absolutely amazing. When you create something to make a difference, it touches people’s heart and their lives in so many different ways. It’s making a difference for this country, for the people and that’s really priceless. You’re getting people out running and getting healthy, breaking down the barriers between people and all the levels of society, it’s really inspiring.”
