The Karnataka State Commission for Women has settled more than 31 thousand cases in the last 25 years and is playing an important role in safeguarding the interests of women. Mrs. Pramila Naidu, President of Karnataka State Commission for Women said that in the backdrop of Silver Jubilee celebrations, special programs have been organized on November 25 and 26.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru today, she said that the Mahila Aayog was started in 1997 to implement the laws enacted to protect the women of the state and also achieve the objective of equality and development. The Commission has been performing important functions such as examining complaints related to women for non-compliance with decisions, guidelines or instructions. Also, the Commission has an important responsibility to provide protection to women against any form of injustice. The President said that such a commission has played an important role in the protection of women in the state in the last 25 years and has settled more than 31 thousand cases in the last 25 years.
