The echo network in association with the Bengaluru Science and Technology Cluster (BeST), and the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) is hosting the I Am OneHealth festival. This unique interactive session is taking place at the VITM premises, on 5th July, Friday, from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Attendees will get the opportunity to meet experts from more than 12 leading organizations in Bengaluru and learn about specific actions one can take to mitigate dengue & other health-related issues. Through technological, educational, interactive, and collaborative activities, the festival aims to highlight the amazing innovations right in our home city and inspire a collective response to public health challenges like Dengue, making a lasting impact on disease prevention and control in Bangalore and beyond.
BBMP officials will be present to address the opening ceremony. The inaugural ceremony will also witness the unveiling of an exclusive citizen action program built to engage citizen scientists in a mass awareness and action campaign to fight the city’s steady rise in dengue cases. Simple techniques to join this mass action movement will be shared during the festival.
Participating organizations will include Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS), ARTPARK, Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), Bangalore Sustainability Forum (BSF), ICAR – National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI), Saahas NGO, Molecular Solutions Care Health LLP, Science Gallery Bengaluru, the echo network and a few more.
The festival will have experts from each of the above organizations interact with the audience through games, stories, interactive dialogues and more. Parikrama Foundation and Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum will also bring students from local schools to interact with the experts and learn ways to stop the spread of dengue and other diseases in the city.
