The tourist destinations of Hampi, Belur-Halebidu, Pattadakallu are World Heritage Sites and like the Hampi tourist destination, important places like Belur-Halebidu, Pattadakallu and Aihole are being developed.
Necessary steps will be taken to provide special facilities at important sites and not only the historical sites but also the surrounding environment will be developed. H.K. Patil, Minister for Law, Justice, Human Rights, Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation and Tourism, said.
During the Question and Answer Session of the Legislative Council today, the Minister, responding to a question on the identification of the dot by Council member M. Nagaraju, said that the Chalukya Heritage Area Management Authority has identified the protected and unprotected monuments in Aihole village.
More than 134 families are being rehabilitated by purchasing 13.11 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 350.00 lakhs, developing the layout and providing them with housing. A tourism complex is being built in Pattadakal at a cost of Rs. 29.25 crores. A well-equipped three-star hotel is being built in Belur and Halebidu at a cost of Rs. 20.71 crores.
In the coming days, more promotional activities will be undertaken for the tourist destinations of Belur, Halebidu, Pattadakallu and Aihole on the model of Hampi to attract more domestic and foreign tourists.

The Tourism Department is currently working on the new Karnataka Tourism Policy-2024-29 to attract more tourists from home and abroad to Karnataka and to utilize the opportunities in the state’s tourism sector. has already been implemented, and a grant of Rs. 1350 crores has been allocated in the budget for the implementation of tourism. The target is to attract direct investment of Rs. 8000 crores and create 1.5 lakh job opportunities.
Already, 25 hotel and other projects worth Rs.551.78 crores have been approved. It has been decided to increase the number of good quality hotels and rooms in our state by providing subsidy to hotel projects.
Our monuments are being developed through the adoption of our monuments through our Monuments Visitation and Conservation Scheme. Entrepreneurs and NRIs have joined hands in making this scheme a success. In the first phase, more than 7 monuments have been adopted.
To facilitate domestic and foreign tourists, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) in collaboration with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has relaunched Karnataka’s flagship luxury train “The Golden Chariot” on 21-12-2024. Special tours are being organized called Pride of Karnataka (5 nights-6 days) and ‘Sojourn of the South (4 nights-4 days)’.
FAM tours are being organized with German travel operators in collaboration with German airline Lufthansa. The state’s tourist destinations are being promoted in collaboration with various travel influencers.
