Bengaluru, December 05 (Karnataka News):

Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar said that according to the India Justice Report-2025, Karnataka State Police has ranked first in the entire country in providing justice, maintaining its position from the previous year.

Addressing a press conference organized by the Karnataka State Police Department at the Police Headquarters today to release a book titled “Pillars of Progress, On the Path of Courage and Commitment” on the two years of the State Police Department, the Home Minister said that our state has scored 6.78 out of 10 points in the delivery of justice and that Karnataka is the only state to have fulfilled the reservation quotas for SC, ST and OBC communities in both the police and judiciary, especially in providing justice to the oppressed communities and in providing justice to the aggrieved.

New Sanctions:
33 new DCRE police stations in the state. 12 new law and order and traffic police stations, two new YRB battalions have been established. A special task force has been set up to effectively suppress communal riots. All the Sen police stations have been upgraded to the rank of DySP and renamed as Cyber Police Stations. 3 new law and order departments have been created in Bengaluru city, he said.

Emergency Response Support System has been implemented:
This results in 24,000 public calls per day, of which 1,400 calls need to be responded to. 457 emergency response vehicles and 267 highway patrol vehicles have been deployed across the state to respond to emergencies.

Emergency response vehicles respond to public complaints in an average of 13 minutes and 58 seconds in rural areas, he said. In urban areas, they respond to public complaints in an average of 06 minutes and 59 seconds.

A door-to-door police initiative has been implemented to strengthen the community policing system. Good feedback is being received from the public. Technological capabilities have been used for women’s safety, he said.

Drug-free Karnataka:
As Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said, many programs have been launched to make Karnataka a drug-free state. He said that to systematically eradicate the scourge of drug addiction, which is adversely affecting the youth of the state, the state police department has launched a project called “Sanmitra” with the aim of making police personnel friends with addicts and turning them into drug-free people.

The city police has made excellent progress in combating drug crimes. In 2025, 1491 Indian nationals and 52 foreign nationals were arrested. Drugs worth about Rs 160 crore were seized, he said.

The state police are working with the government with utmost honesty and commitment. The aim of the police department should be people-friendly and should be citizen-centric so that the citizens are not disturbed in any way. We are working with the aim of ensuring that no untoward incident takes place in the society and have implemented new innovations and made many changes. In order to maintain law and order, the punishment should be limited to those who have committed the crime without disturbing others. In the changed era, we have been working for the last two years in a way that uses technology to detect crime.

Director General of Police Dr. M.A. Salim, Bangalore City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, DGP of Home Guards and Fire Services Prashant Kumar Thakur, DGP of Internal Security Department Dr. Pranav Mohanty, ADGP of Home Guards and Corrections Department R Hitendra, ADGP of Home Guards and Corrections Services B. Dayanand, ADGP P Harishekaran, ADGP of Administration Department Soumendu Mukherjee and others were present at the press conference.

Hygiene on Go’: A First-of-its-Kind Mobile Sanitation Initiative for Bengaluru Traffic Police Launched in City

Bengaluru, December 05 (Karnataka News):
Home Minister Dr.G Parameshwara said that three mobile toilet vehicles named ‘Hygiene on Go’ will now be available to the Bengaluru Traffic Police.
The Home Minister flagged off the vehicles at a program organized by the Karnataka State Police Department to launch the “Hygiene on Go” vehicles for the Bangalore City Police Unit at the Police Headquarters today. Traffic police perform their duties day and night, in cold and rain. While maintaining traffic signals, they do not even get time to go to the toilet. Women personnel face even more hardships while working on crowded roads. Realizing this, the government has made the “Hygiene on Go” vehicles available to solve this problem, he said.
“Hygiene on Go’ is a three-vehicle project costing Rs 80 lakh. These vehicles will stop periodically at 91 pre-determined locations on three of the busiest roads in Bengaluru, namely Thanisandra, Aadugodi and Mysore Roads. They will operate from 8.30 am to 7 pm and can be used by traffic police. The total cost of this project is Rs 2.06 crore,” he said.
These vehicles have separate toilets for women and men, hand washing and hygiene facilities, sanitary napkin system for women, mirrors and basic amenities, first aid, fire fighting equipment, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras on the outside, and LED displays for road safety.
Traffic police were facing many problems due to the call of nature, unable to cope with the physical hardships. Renault Company congratulated the government and personally for preparing the “Hygiene on Go” vehicle to solve their problems.

Sharing his inputs, Mr. Debashis Neogi, Managing Director, RNTBCI, said, “At RNTBCI, we are committed to supporting initiatives that create real, measurable impact in the community. The challenges faced by Bengaluru’s traffic police often go unseen, and we are proud to contribute toward a solution that enhances their daily working conditions. Hygiene on Go aligns strongly with our CSR focus on health, road safety, and social wellbeing.”

Sharing her views, Dr. Kalpana Sankar, Executive Chair Person, Hand in Hand India said, “Hygiene on Go is a meaningful step toward strengthening essential services for those who serve the city tirelessly. At Hand in Hand India, our focus has always been on bridging gaps that impact vulnerable communities and frontline workers. This project reflects our belief that sustainable development begins with dignity, safety, and access to basic needs.”

Each mobile sanitation vehicle includes:

Separate male and female washrooms
Handwash and hygiene facilities
Sanitary napkin incinerator for women
Mirror and basic utilities
First-aid kit and fire extinguisher
GPS tracking
Exterior CCTV cameras
LED display for road safety messaging
The vehicles will operate from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM across three major traffic-heavy routes- Thanisandra, Adugodi, and Mysuru Road, covering 91 designated halting points to ensure timely, reliable access for personnel on duty.

More than an infrastructure upgrade, the initiative is envisioned as a message of gratitude. Hygiene on Go underscores the belief that the wellbeing of those safeguarding the city is a shared responsibility.

The other dignitaries present on the occasion included Mr. Vikraman Vellandi – Chief of Renault Engineering, RNTBCI, Mr. Akira Hanzawa, Senior Vice President, Nissan Engineering, RNTBCI, Mr. Binu Nair, Head-Admin, Security and CSR, RNTBCI, and Mr.N.Byrav, Head-Operations, Hand in Hand India.
