Deliberations on Women’s Safety and Security
Bengaluru, September 23 (Karnataka Information):
The Directorate Advisors Consortium (DAC), in collaboration with the Karnataka State Police and Bengaluru City Police, has organised the “3rd Edition of the National Women’s Conference 2026”.
The conference, themed “Gandhiji Revisited: Women’s Security and Safety in Independent India – Sensitising the Sensibilities”, will be held on September 24 and 25, 2026, at the SPORTI (Senior Police Officers’ Research and Training Institute) campus .
Main Objectives and Agenda of the Conference
At a time when India is progressing towards becoming a developed nation, the security, dignity and safety of women are of utmost importance. The two-day conference will deliberate on modern challenges such as cybercrime, workplace harassment and human trafficking.
Day 1 (September 24): The focus will be on “Policy, Partnerships and Innovation”. Discussions will cover safe city planning, cybersecurity, digital crimes and community participation.
Day 2 (September 25): A training workshop will be held on “Strengthening Professional Response”. Police personnel will be trained in investigation, forensics, digital evidence collection and gender sensitivity under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Karnataka Cyber Hackathon 2026 Launched
As a major highlight of the conference, the Karnataka State Police, along with DAC, has announced the “Karnataka Cyber Hackathon 2026”. It is a 15-day “Innovation Sprint” for startups, providing a platform to develop technology-based solutions to combat cybercrime.
Five Key Challenges
- Preventing Digital Arrests of Senior Citizens: Detecting and preventing the misuse of video calls to protect senior citizens.
- Dynamic Call Verification: Preventing fraudulent calls by detecting caller ID spoofing and fake SIM boxes.
- Deepfake & Morphing Shield: Detecting AI-generated fake images and videos.
- Combating Sextortion: Detecting threats and tracking financial transactions.
- Cyberstalking and Doxxing: Preventing the leakage of personal information.
The best selected technological solutions will receive cash prizes and an opportunity for direct pilot implementation at Karnataka Police’s CEN (Cyber, Economic and Narcotics) police stations.
Around 200 representatives from the police department, judiciary, Ministry of Home Affairs, IT sector, NGOs and the corporate sector will participate in the conference. As a key outcome of the conference, “The Bengaluru Declaration” on women’s safety and security will be issued.
“Women’s safety is not merely the responsibility of the police; it is a national commitment,” the organisers said.
