Reinforcing its commitment to community health and preventive eye care, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital conducted a dedicated outreach initiative for the Police force in Bengaluru – West Division, distributing complimentary spectacles and sunglasses to More than 600 police personnel from Vijayanagar, Magadi Road, Kamakshipalya, Basaveshwaranagar, Agrahara, Govindarajanagar and West Women Police Stations, encouraging their relentless service under harsh weather conditions.
Police officers spend prolonged hours exposed to intense sunlight, heat, and dust, increasing the risk of eye strain and long-term ocular damage. The initiative was designed to promote preventive eye care, and proper hydration while expressing appreciation for their vital role in maintaining public safety and order.
The programme also highlighted the hospital’s empanelment under the Arogya Bhagya Yojane (ABY ) health scheme, which enables police personnel and their families to access comprehensive and quality eye care services.
The spectacles were distributed in the presence of Yathish N, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Bengaluru City, and Bhoothe Gowda V.S., KSPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vijayanagara Sub-Division, , along with senior representatives from Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, including Dr Rakesh Sennappa , Regional Head – Retina Services & Mr.Dheeraj E T , VP – Operations & Business who appreciated the initiative for promoting preventive eye care and supporting the health and well-being of police personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Seenappa, Regional Head – Retina Services, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, said, “Our police force works tirelessly under demanding conditions, often putting public service ahead of personal health. Good vision is essential for carrying out their responsibilities effectively and safely.
