Bengaluru, June 11 (Karnataka News): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the ‘Shakti’ scheme, which is one of the ambitious 5 guarantee schemes of the government, to provide free travel for women across the state, in a program organized near the grand steps of the Vidhana Soudha on Sunday.On the same occasion, the district in-charge minister also launched Shakti Yojana in various districts of the state.By implementing this scheme, the government has taken a bold step towards women empowerment.
The government has done the work of empowering women who have been deprived of opportunities for centuries in various fields including social and economic and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.Speaking at the launch of the innovative ‘Shakti’ project, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the mission of our government is to give power to the weak people who do not have power; Women have been underprivileged for centuries. Women should participate in the development as much as men to progress in any social development path. In this regard, our government is doing the work of empowering women by allowing free travel, he said.
