Griha Lakshmi Scheme Turns 3: Karnataka’s Top Landmarks Lit Up in Pink to Honor Female Householders

BENGALURU: Major monuments and government buildings across Karnataka turned into a sea of pink on Sunday evening. The bright lights celebrated the third anniversary of Griha Lakshmi, a major government program that helps women.

From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, beautiful pink lights decorated famous places like the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, the Mysore Palace, and the ancient ruins of Hampi. The Department of Information and Public Relations organized the special light show. Officials chose the color pink because it is a symbol of women’s pride and strength.

The Griha Lakshmi scheme gives ₹2,000 every month to the woman who runs the household. Government leaders say this money helps women take care of their families and live more independent lives. Families all over the state celebrated the milestone as their local landmarks lit up the night sky.
