KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has won an order to supply a suite of People Flow® solutions including KONE UltraRope® revolutionary hoisting technology to 8 Bishopsgate, a new 50-story office high-rise building in the City of London. The stacked block design rising up to 200 meters reflects the urban culture of London and enables the creation of terraces and outdoor spaces. The tower will include a public viewing gallery, with two lifts dedicated to swiftly bringing visitors up to level 50.
Altogether KONE will deliver 19 eco-efficient KONE MiniSpace™ elevators of which 15 are double-deck elevators using the revolutionary KONE UltraRope® carbon fiber based hoisting technology. One group of four will travel at speeds up to 8.0 m/s. During construction, KONE JumpLift™ solutions will be utilised to speed up construction time on site. In the podium, two KONE MonoSpace® 700 elevators and two KONE TransitMaster™ 110 escalators will ease the people flow. The building will be equipped with KONE E-Link™, a facility management tool designed to secure the best possible tenant service quality, and advanced KONE Destination control system for reduced waiting and traveling times. KONE InfoScreens will provide a quick and easy way to deliver multimedia information inside the elevators and improve guidance inside the building.
8 Bishopsgate will be certified with the BREEAM Excellent Standard, a green building certification system.
