Bengaluru, July 17: The duo of Manish Kumar Verma and Rakesh Rajora bagged the honours of the best Overall Team in the The Golf Foundation (TGF)’s 13th Invitational Fund Raiser Golf Event which was held over two days at the challenging Karnataka Golf Association. The event garnered immense support from distinguished personalities, including renowned cricketers, and Miss India 2023 Runner-up, Shreya Poonja.
The highly anticipated event witnessed an exceptional display of talent, camaraderie, and philanthropy. Manish and Rakesh with a score of 53 Nett outscored the second placed team of Veer Ganapathy and Krishna Prasad who tallied 56 Nett and the pair of Sanjay Gaddipati and Prasanna who scored 58 Nett. Various skill prizes based on activities taken up the TGF engaged the golfers as they pledged their support not only elevated the event but also demonstrated their commitment to nurturing talent and supporting worthy causes.
The generous presence of esteemed personalities added an extra layer of excitement and prestige, making it a truly memorable occasion. Among those who joined the cause were the legendary Syed Kirmani, a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, along with former international cricketers Sunil Joshi, Venkatesh Prasad, and Sujit Somasundar.
In addition to its primary objective of raising funds, The Golf Foundation also extended its support to 15 caddy boys and girls from the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA). Former Indian Open champion C Muniyappa’s son Prem Muniyappa won the title in the KGA kids category. By assisting these talented and financially disadvantaged individuals, TGF continues its unwavering commitment to providing opportunities to underprivileged youngsters across the nation. Their inclusion in this prestigious event served as a reminder of the foundation’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and accessible golfing community.
