With the motto of “Postcard for Education” PSOI, under the aegis of India Post has arranged a meet-up on 11th June 2022 at the GPO, Bangalore.
The event was presided over by the Chief Post Master General of Karnataka Circle,S. Rajendra Kumar and a commemorative postcard and a special ephemeral cancellation was released. The event also hosted an Exhibition of postcards on Lighthouses, as a tribute to the ‘Lighthouse Man of India’ – D Hemachandra Rao. The event was attended by Postcrossers and Philatelists from across India and many from outside India as well.
During the occasion Col. Akhil Kumar said “Writing a postcard may seem like a simple thing, but it creates a great opportunity for children, students and even adults to put their minds and thoughts together. The hobby of writing postcards helps people to think, visualise and communicate better.”

They helped design and create various philatelic items for Postcrossers and Philatelists to put to use. I wish all the very best for the forthcoming meetup.”
