In a joyful and patriotic atmosphere, a ‘Run for Unity’ was conducted at Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore in the early hours on 31st October to mark the ‘National Unity Day’ and as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebrations.
Air Marshal Prashant Bharadwaj VSM & Bar, Director General of Medical Services (Air) flagged-off the run. More than 90 air warriors from different age groups along with ladies and children participated in the 7.5 kms ‘Mini Marathon’ with full josh and enthusiasm conveying messages of unity & oneness of the country and importance of keeping themselves and their family fit and healthy always. During the Run, the participants both old and young displayed high spirit of togetherness, never giving up attitude and feelings of nationalism.
31st Oct every year is celebrated as National Unity Day in remembrance of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. This year, it marks a special year when the nation is celebrating 75 years of its Independence as ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.
The Air Marshal congratulated all the participants and the organising committee for making the marathon a grand success. In his concluding address he said that ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebration is an honour to our freedom fighters and freedom movement. We should always inspire each other in keeping ourselves fit and remain united, harmonious and dedicated to our duties and responsibilities
RUN FOR UNITY’ CONDUCTED AT TRAINING COMMAND IAF

In a festive and patriotic atmosphere, a ‘Run for Unity’ was conducted at HQ Training Command in the early hours on 31 October to mark the ‘National Unity Day and as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsay celebrations. Air Marshal Manavendra Singh AVSM VrC VSM ADC, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command flagged off the run. More than 200 air warriors from different age groups along with ladies and children participated in the 7.5 kms ‘Mini Marathon’ with full Josh and enthusiasm conveying messages of unity & oneness of the country. During the Run the participants displayed spirit of togetherness, never giving up attitude and feelings of nationalism. More than 300 air warriors from different age groups with ladies and children participated in the 7.5 kms ‘Mini Marathon’ with full josh and enthusiasm conveying messages of unity & oneness of the country and importance of keeping themselves and their family fit and healthy always.
