Shanghai, May 11, 2020–Shanghai Disney Resort’s theme park, Shanghai Disneyland, reopenedits gatestoday, welcoming guests of all ages back to the place full of happiness, where they can savor the beauty and warmth of spring and immerse themselves once again in the magic of Disney
Earlier today before the park gates were officially reopened,with spring decorations on full display, Shanghai Disneyland hosted a special reopening ceremony against acolorful backdrop of the iconic “Floral Minnie.”Cast Membersfrom every themed land in Shanghai Disneyland and invited Disney fans and guestsjoined more than 30 Disney characters,including Mickey Mouse and his friends, Duffy and Friends, Marvel Super Heroes,Disney Princesses, Toy Story friends, and many more, to commemorate the special and momentous occasion. “Sincethe reopening of Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel in early March, we have been deeply moved by the encouragement fromour guests and Disney fans,” said Joe Schott, President and General Manager, Shanghai Disney Resort. “Today, we are extremely pleased to reopen Shanghai Disneyland thanks to the unwavering efforts of our Cast Members and our community.Today’s celebrations will be remembered with joy, aswe look forward to welcoming our guests back to this happy place.
Shanghai Disney Resort has been working regularly with local government on the reopening plan of Shanghai Disneyland. During this initial reopening phase, the park has instituted new measures and procedures, including opening with limited attendance and required advanced ticketing and reservations, accommodating social distancing in queues, restaurants, ride vehicles and other facilities throughout the park, and implementing increased frequency of cleaning and sanitization.
