District Returning Officer and Chief Commissioner Mr. Tushar Giri Nath initiated the vintage car and bike rally program in order to increase awareness and voter turnout in the wake of the general Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking after the launch, he said that the voting for the Lok Sabha elections will be held on April 26 and various schemes are being worked on to create awareness among the people. He said that by rallying vintage cars and two-wheelers, people are being made aware to vote more in the Lok Sabha elections.
The percentage of voting is not happening at the expected level in the city. In this regard, several awareness programs are being conducted at the grassroots level.
Vintage Car and Bike Rally Route:
The rally started from Vidhana Soudha Grand Steps, Infantry Road, MG Road (via M. Chinnaswamy Stadium), Trinity Circle, Residency Road and ended near Kantheerava Stadium.
On this occasion, Election Division Special Commissioner Selvamani, District Sweep Committee Chairman Kantharaju, Sweep Nodal Officer Pratibha and other officials were present.
