Bengaluru, Aug 04 — Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared that the current administration is committed to inclusive governance, emphasizing that the state will not tolerate any form of social or political oppression.
Speaking at the historic, 400-year-old Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan Dargah in Cottonpet during the annual Urs program, Shivakumar reassured the gathering of the government’s unwavering support. “Ours is a government that brings everyone together,” he stated, promising to address local grievances raised by area MLAs. “Our government wants to govern without hurting anyone’s feelings. Our party has protected your aspirations.”
A Message of Harmony and Unity
Reflecting on the spiritual significance of the dargah, Shivakumar delivered a strong message of communal harmony, noting that no faith propagates division. “Whatever the religion, the principle is the same,” he said. “Even if there are a hundred names, there is only one God. Why do we need religion? We want peace and tranquility to prevail in society.”
He concluded his address by invoking the teachings of the Prophet, stating that humanity remains the ultimate religion, and appealed to the constituency to continue supporting senior party leader and local representative Dinesh Gundu Rao in future elections.
