Bengaluru, August 21 (Karnataka News):
“Let the government be advised on financial matters and guided to increase revenue collection,” Chief Minister DK Shivakumar called.

Speaking at the “Samvad Sammelan” program organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on Friday, he said, “Our government is an open book. We are open to new ideas and solutions. Give your suggestions to prevent our mistakes and resource leakage. The omniscient has said that there is no greater sourness than lemon, blackness than blackcurrant, God greater than Shiva, and no greater virtue than faith.” You are the guardians of faith. Faith is in your blood, and you must maintain it. We believe in what you have said. You must protect our lives, property and guide our income. You have the ability to correct our mistakes. You are building the country and the country is proud of you.”
The officials mentally harass and humiliate honest tax payers. They do not question those who steal. In this country, 12 lakh businessmen have left this country. They are saying that the association of IT, ED and CBI is enough. It is the job of the Income Tax Department officials to cause trouble. When I went to Gujarat a few years ago, 70% of the transactions there were done in cash. Only 30% were done in white. In our Karnataka, 90% of the transactions are done in white. Compared to other states, we are disciplined, he said.
Karnataka is growing as an economic powerhouse, and without your guidance, they cannot succeed. South India is the fuel of the country’s progress. We argued before Union Home Minister Amit Shah that India’s progress is not possible without South India. The entire world is looking at India through Bangalore. 2 lakh foreign passport holders are working in Bangalore. You are giving good advice to investors coming from other states. He said that Karnataka is the best center for new investment, industry, job creation, exploration, and exports.
I did not know that the session would be held when I agreed to this program. But now the session is going on. The friends of the opposition party are not able to understand me and our government. My thoughts are clear, and they have no chance to fight against me because of the policies our government is implementing for the common people. There is no cure for jealousy. That is why they are not giving us a chance for discussion, he said.
The country’s progress from South India
Yesterday, in the Southern Zonal Board meeting held in Chennai, I mentioned the problems of our state. South India, including Karnataka, has contributed to the progress of the country. Just as the lamp we light shines from the bottom up, the progress of the country is also shining from South India. When a lamp is lit, its light is visible to everyone. But no one sees the wick and oil in it. We want a fair share. The issue of the difference in the contribution we are giving and the grant we are receiving has been raised. The lamp we light does not go out so easily. It brings light to the lives of the people of the state, he said.
Karnataka is the second highest tax paying state in the country. Karnataka contributes 42% to India’s software exports. Looking at the talent here, the world’s top 500 companies are operating in our country. He said that Karnataka is leading in all sectors including IT, BT, technology and aerospace.
It is a pleasure to participate in this dialogue program. Without your guidance, the state would not have achieved this progress. Your guidance is behind the country’s good economy. Both money and blood should flow. If blood is in one place, health deteriorates, and if money is in one place, income tax, GST, and thieves come, he recalled, recalling that Sai Baba had once said.
You have raised the issue of the need for space for the institution (ICAI). Come and meet me next week after the session is over. Your demand is in favor of the state and the new generation. You should also advise our government on resource mobilization. Our government is spending 52 thousand crores every year on the guarantee scheme. We are providing free electricity to 20 thousand crore farmers’ pump sets and are providing various pensions. Tell us how the government’s revenue can be increased without causing any problems to the business industry. We have taken social and economic security to the next level. Even though the Prime Minister criticized our model, other states have followed it later, he said.
Provide guidance to entrepreneurs on the proper utilization of CSR funds:
In our state, workers are coming from the northeastern states in the service sector, and from the northern states in the construction sector. Traders from Andhra Pradesh are coming. You should guide them and make them earn more and pay taxes to the government. You all should guide the industries on the issue of CSR funds. Our government should give more emphasis to primary education in rural areas with CSR funds. For this, we are formulating an education policy, he suggested.
People should avoid migrating to the city for education and employment. The population of Bengaluru, which was 70 lakhs 25 years ago, has increased to 1.40 crore today. There are 1.35 crore vehicles. If I propose to build a tunnel road to reduce traffic congestion, the opposition parties are opposing it, you say that they should vote for them. Common sense is needed here. Even if there are no educated people in the country, there should be intelligent people. They do not have common sense. While they are saying that buildings cannot be demolished to widen the road, the person you have elected is saying no to tunnels out of personal interest. I have told their central leaders that you will elect such people.
“We know how common people are being harassed through new laws like PMLA Act and black money. You have high moral values. I congratulate you for that. We have not come here for your applause and garlands. I have come to say that we are with you, you are with us. May this commitment be with you too. Warm wishes to all of you on the occasion of Varamahalakshmi festival. May more people become rich under your guidance,” he said.
Minister Priyank Kharge, CM’s Political Secretary Ponnanna, Chartered Accountants Association of India (ICAI) Bangalore Chapter President Kavita Paramesh and others were present at the event.
