(Aug 17)BENGALURU-
Kalyan Silks, one of the world’s leading networks of silk saree showrooms with a legacy of over a century, has expanded its presence in Karnataka with the grand opening of its new showroom in Malleshwaram. This outlet marks Kalyan Silks’ 3rd showroom in Bengaluru and its 39th showroom globally. The inauguration of this modern shopping complex took place on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:30 AM. Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Labour and Employment and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, inaugurated the outlet. The chief guest, Dr. Ashwath Narayan C N, former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and MLA of Malleswaram Constituency, inaugurated the second floor, dedicated exclusively to wedding wear. Starting from a single store in Thrissur in 1909, Kalyan Silks has grown into an international name backed by its own looms, production facilities, and in-house design studios across India. Prominent silk saree dealers Ravi Jain and Yadesh Shenoy handed over the first sale, marking the official opening of customer purchases at the new showroom.
Set up across multiple levels with extensive collections, the new Malleshwaram showroom brings heirloom silks, bridal wear, and modern ethnic ranges to Malleshwaram at fair prices through direct loom-to-store production. The ground floor welcomes saree lovers with the widest assortment of cotton sarees, handloom cotton sarees, cotton silk, semi-Kanjeevaram sarees, semi-tussar silk, semi-crepe, semi-Banarasi, designer sarees, churidar sets and modern ethnic wear. Rich silk varieties await on the first floor, featuring traditional Kanchipuram sarees, feather-light Kanchipuram silks, designer Kanchipuram drapes, Ikkat silks, Mysore silk sarees, Banarasi silk sarees, and pure tussar silks. The second floor hosts an extensive selection of bridal and occasion wear, including churidars, shararas, Anarkalis, designer gowns, ready-made lehengas, and semi-stitched lehengas. In addition to this, the second floor houses the men’s ethnic wear section, where elegant menswear ensembles—including Indo-Western outfits, traditional dhotis, and premium silk shirts—are available, making it the ultimate wedding destination under one roof.
This stands as Kalyan Silks’ fourth grand silk saree showroom inaugurated in August alone, powering forward the ambitious milestone of reaching 50 silk saree showrooms by the end of 2027. Kalyan Silks’ deep-rooted relationship with sarees has ensured an intuitive sense for every evolving trend, pioneering game-changing innovations for decades. The brand revolutionised the global market by introducing the world’s very first branded silk sarees under ‘Saugandhika Silks’. Recognising the modern bride’s desire for effortless elegance without compromising on tradition, Kalyan Silks crafted India’s lightest silk drapes, the iconic ‘Feather Light’ sarees. It is this matchless heritage, craftsmanship, and trendsetting legacy that Kalyan Silks brings to Malleshwaram, seamlessly weaving the cultural heart of Bengaluru into the world’s largest silk saree network.
“Bengaluru has always been a city that effortlessly blends rich cultural heritage with forward-thinking modernity, and Malleshwaram stands at the very heart of that tradition. Bringing our legacy to a neighbourhood so deeply rooted in culture is a proud milestone for us. We first expanded to Karnataka in 2012 at Commercial Street. Over the years, the people of Namma Bengaluru have accepted us with open arms, making Kalyan Silks an integral part of their grandest celebrations and everyday moments. Our strong relationship with them has inspired us to consistently innovate. By delivering unmatched craftsmanship, pure loom-woven quality, and revolutionary collections straight to this historic hub, we are thrilled to make world-class ethnic fashion effortlessly accessible to the people of Bengaluru,” said T. S. Pattabhiraman, Chairman of Kalyan Silks.
