Minister Priyank Kharge discusses with delegation on the occasion of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s visit to Bengaluru
Bengaluru: In the wake of the visit of the Prime Minister of Poland, Hon. Donald Tusk to Bengaluru in October, a delegation led by Mrs. Laura Trebel-Gniadowska, Minister Counsellor and Head of the Political and Economic Section of the Embassy of Poland, met with the Minister of Home Affairs, Information Technology and Biotechnology and e-Governance, Priyank Kharge, and discussed ways to further strengthen the partnership between Karnataka and Poland.
The foundation of a good partnership in the field of technology and innovation has already been laid between Karnataka and Poland. In this context, there was a discussion on using the upcoming visit of the Polish Prime Minister to Bengaluru as a major opportunity to further expand technology, innovation and research cooperation between the state and Poland.
Poland is already actively engaged with the state’s technology and startup ecosystem through Karnataka’s Global Innovation Alliance and the Bangalore Tech Summit. The Minister expressed his intention to build this partnership into a strong and fruitful partnership that will continue throughout the year, rather than being limited to specific events.
The meeting discussed the need to further expand the connectivity of Polish businesses and institutions with Karnataka’s startup ecosystem, technology capabilities and research institutions. In particular, the focus was on creating more opportunities for joint projects, technology cooperation, investment and knowledge exchange by increasing direct connections between business-to-business, startup-to-startup and research institutions.
By linking Karnataka’s potential as a global technology and innovation hub with Poland’s technology and industrial capabilities, new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation can be created. In this regard, the Minister emphasized the need to hold further discussions with representatives of relevant sectors in the coming days and identify clear opportunities for cooperation.
The proposed visit of the Polish Prime Minister to Bengaluru aims to showcase the state’s potential in technology, innovation and research sectors, as well as explore opportunities to further strengthen the long-term partnership between Karnataka and Poland.
India-Poland relations are set to be elevated to a strategic partnership in 2024, with economic and technological cooperation being key areas of the relationship between the two countries. On this occasion, Karnataka is ready to forge new cooperation opportunities with Poland through its strong technology, innovation and research ecosystem, said Minister Priyank Kharge.
