Action to hand over the affairs of Shri Guru Raghavendra Co-operative Bank to the CBI

Bengaluru, July 17 (Karnataka News):

A translator has been assigned to translate bank related documents into English language regarding the misdeeds of Shree Guru Raghavendra Co-operative Bank, Basavanagudi, Bangalore. After the 500 pages of documents are translated into English, necessary action will be taken and handed over to the CBI, Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna said.

During the proceedings of the Legislative Council, the member of the Legislative Council, U.B. Responding to the attention-grabbing instruction presented by Venkatesh under Rule 72, the Minister said that the amount of embezzlement of Sri Guru Raghavendra Co-operative Bank is enormous and the office bearers, board directors and chief executive officers of the bank have committed fraud by collecting a huge amount of money from the public in the form of deposits and not returning it. It was decided on 17-01-2023 in a meeting presided over by the Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation regarding the transfer to B.I.

In this regard, the proposal received from the regulator on date: 09-02-2023 was reviewed and submitted to the Home Administration Department. A letter was written to the director of the translation department on date: 04-05-2023 to translate the entire documents into English language in view of the fact that the Home Administration Department had instructed to submit the information/documents related to the case in English language. The director of the translation department contacted the translators notified by the Government of Karnataka as the documents given for translation were huge and there was a shortage of human resources. He said that necessary action will be taken immediately to translate the documents into English language.
