A seminar on “Chemical Spill Management Day–2025” was organised by the Department of Industries, Bangalore Rural District, in collaboration with Ajax Engineering Limited, at Bedenahalli, Doddaballapur Taluk.
The Chief Guest, Smt. Syedha Ayeesha, KAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore Rural District, emphasized the critical importance of prevention through early detection, preparedness, and the adoption of robust safety measures to effectively manage chemical spill incidents.
The programme was also attended by M. A. Somashekhar, Deputy Director of Industries, and K. G. Nanjappa, Additional Director of Factories, who highlighted the need for enhanced public awareness and proactive precautionary measures to mitigate risks arising from chemical spills and other industrial disasters.
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Swagata Rai, Regional Commissioner, Regional Office, Yelahanka, stressed that all factory workers must be enrolled under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to ensure financial security, health protection, and long-term social security benefits. She urged workers to actively utilize the benefits provided under the Provident Fund scheme. She appealed to all Employers and State and Central Government Officers to ensure that all Establishments register themselves under PMVBRY scheme to avail the benefits of additional employment generation. She also informed that the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2025 aims at enabling Employers to regularise past Compliance. An Onsite registration camp had also been set up to assist Employers to register them under the Schemes
