Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said that all officials should be proactive in providing transparent and pro-people governance in the state.
An important meeting of all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the government was held at Vidhana Soudha today. In the meeting, several strict instructions were given to streamline the administrative machinery.
Strict biometric and central location stay:
The grassroots officials are like the face of the agovernment. All the officers and staff must be present in the office by 10 am. They must respond to the problems of the public. I will not tolerate any negligence, he gave a strict warning.
The officers must stay at their assigned headquarters. The CM has instructed the Chief Secretary to take strict measures to ensure this and submit a report.
He encouraged the officials to not give in to pressure and do illegal work. If there is no provision in the law, inform me or the minister directly.
Administration at people’s doorsteps:
Not just limited to the office, all officers should mandatorily visit the taluk level every week to receive the complaints of the people, understand their problems and provide immediate solutions. And the report should be brought directly to the attention of the Chief Minister. The Minister also asked them to visit the taluks regularly.
Booster dose for education and employment sector:
Recruitment of 50 thousand teachers:
The current shortage of 50,000 teachers in the state will be addressed in a phased manner. CSR funds will be utilized appropriately for the development of schools.
Free bus pass extension:
It has been decided to extend the free bus pass facility, which was previously limited to female students, to all students in the state, and it has been directed to be implemented immediately.
Private employment exchange:
Separate job exchange centers will be set up to make private sector jobs easily available to the youth of our state. Departments have been ordered to prepare a time schedule for filling up vacant government posts.
Rural economy and the progress of Bengaluru:
Migration from rural areas to cities is a matter of concern. Therefore, greater priority will be given to boosting the rural economy.
Bangalore is recognized globally. Everyone needs to introspect for the development of the city by utilizing the IT professionals and medical resources here, he said.
Youth empowerment and new tourism policy:
Bharat Jodo Youth Association Club:
10,000 youth association clubs will be established across the state. A total of Rs. 1,000 crore has been allocated for each club, at Rs. 10 lakh each.
Priority for coastal tourism:
A sophisticated ‘New Tourism Policy’ will soon be implemented for the comprehensive development of the coastal region.
Strict precautions to curb rowdiness:
The police should take strict action to maintain law and order in the state. Orders have been given to form a special task force at the taluk level to completely eradicate rowdy activities.
The right to vote is our duty:
The SIR work has begun in the state and a helpline will be started at the booth level to make it easy for the public to get the necessary documents. The Chief Minister said that it is our responsibility to ensure that every eligible person gets the right to vote.
