Bengaluru, 16 November 2023 –
CII delegation led by Mr Kamal Bali, Chairman, CII Southern Region & President & Managing Director, Volvo Group, India met with D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka and submitted a representation on the recent order by the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka quashing of 34 Minimum Wage (MW) notifications issued by the Government of Karnataka.
During the meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister, CII put forward the concerns and implications for industries on the matter and highlighted the need to maintain Karnataka’s competitiveness as a leading manufacturing and services hub with an enabling industrial ecosystem.
The Deputy Chief Minister was empathetic and assured that the matter would be thoroughly reviewed, ensuring Karnataka will remain a preferred investment destination fostering a supportive environment for growth of industries.
