Dharwad, Sept. 26:
The empowerment of technology is most powerful and it will open bank of knowledge, opined Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at a function organised in connection with the opening of new campus of IIIT here on Monday, he said every scientific research must take place for the welfare of humans. They are in need of IIIT as India is a developing nation and their main strength has been the human resources. If this increases the future is bright in the country’ social, economic, academic and social development. IT, BT and artificial intelligence will help in the improvement of human strength. Besides, it will also help to take the country forward through the fields of learning and education. This has been given impetus by by the prime minister who wants to make use of the country’s population for the rightful reasons. India has a youth population of 46 per cent and this is a biggest strength. The youths must help in the growth of India.
The CM said they are in the centre of India’s future as a strong foundation has been laid in Karnataka for the basic sciences, R&D and technology. No other state in the country has this much of talent and technically sound human resources. All these could happen due to the contribution of the seniors. Fifty years ago, Sudha Murty was the first lady engineer to pass out from the Hubballi BVB Engineering College. Today, there are two great women amidst them and they symbolises our strength and culture. While one woman has been in the forefront of technology field without restricting to four walls of house, another woman is ruling the whole nation.
Inspiration for all
He said President Droupadi Murmu belongs to the tribal community and led a simple life. The ideals she follows have been the secret of her success. She started her career as teacher and now serving as President of India. When her name was proposed for President’s post, she was cleaning temple in her home town. This is a source of inspiration for one and all.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and IIIT, Dharwad Board of Administration Chairperson Sudha Murty were present.
