Government Promises Committee of Karnataka Legislative Council Study Tour to Dakshina Kannada District

Karnataka Legislative Council’s Government Promises Committee Chairman B.M. Farooq along with committee members will undertake a study tour to Dakshina Kannada district from September 06 to September 08.
At the time of visit pending assurance no. 7212 – M.R.P.L. of Mangalore Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District. Notices were issued to land owners for acquisition of land for 4th stage expansion, non-compensation under the new Act and non-employment and environmental damage caused by MRPL and assurance No. 7847 – Unscientific and inadequate drainage action plan in Ullal and Suratkal areas of Mangalore. As a result of the implementation, the people of that area are suffering from diseases and petroleum and chemicals companies have been established under the jurisdiction of Mangalore Municipal Corporation, and they will discuss with the relevant officials about setting up a fire fighting system in the said area, Karnataka Legislative Council Secretary K.R. Mahalakshmi said in a release.
