KLIA, 6 June 2020 – Malaysia Aviation Group (“MAG” or the “Group”) welcomes Prime Minister YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement earlier today on the appointment of YBhg Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin as Non-Executive Group Chairman of the Board of Directors (the “Board”), effective 1 July 2020.
Commenting on the appointment, Group CEO and Managing Director of MAG Captain Izham Ismail said, “The senior leadership team looks forward to working closely with Tan Sri Wan in charting the Group’s future. Tan Sri Wan’s proven leadership and illustrious career at Petronas prove that he is the most suitable candidate to lead MAG forward as a strong player in the aviation industry and critical enabler of national development.”
The position of Non-Executive Group Chairman at MAG has been vacant since March 2019 following the resignation of YBhg Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof.
