Bengaluru, July 17, (Karnataka News):-
The Karnataka Government has issued an official notification to allocate a total of 579 liquor licenses across the state for the next 5 years (i.e. from 2026-27 to 2030-31) through electronic e-auction.
The bidder registration process in this regard has already started from July 3rd, and the live bidding process will be held in various stages from July 24th to July 31st.
483 CL(2-A) and 96 CL(9-A) certificates available:
A total of 483 CL(2-A) and 96 CL(9-A) certificates are available for auction in this massive e-auction process. Most notably, the highest number of these, i.e. 119 CL(2-A) and 67 CL(9-A) certificates, are available in the Bangalore Urban district.
Idea of Constitutional Reservation:
In the context of social justice, reservation has been implemented in this auction process. The government has provided reservation of 5.25 percent for Scheduled Caste-A category, 5.25 percent for Scheduled Caste-B category, 4.50 percent for Scheduled Caste-C category and 3 percent for Scheduled Tribe category.
Eligibility and Application Procedure:
Any individual or sole proprietorship firm is eligible to participate in this e-auction. Along with this, trust, society, partnership firm, limited partnership agreement (LLP) or companies registered under the laws of India can also apply.
Those who wish to bid should register online by paying a registration fee of Rs. 1,000/- plus applicable GST. An application fee of Rs. 50,000/- has been fixed for each application, which is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Bidders are allowed to apply for more than one charter. It is mandatory to register on the MSTC portal at least two working days before the auction date for the respective district.

The Excise Department has prepared a schedule for the smooth conduct of the e-auction, dividing it into the first slot (Slot-1) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and the second slot (Slot-2) from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm.
July 24, 2026 (Friday): In the first slot that morning, a total of 46 charters including 21 charters from BUD-01, 11 charters from Bidar and 14 charters from Haveri will be auctioned. In the second slot that afternoon, a total of 45 charters including 18 charters from BUD-05, 12 charters from Chikkamagaluru and 15 charters from Kalburgi will be auctioned.
July 27, 2026 (Monday): In the first slot, a total of 50 charters including 28 charters of BUD-02, 13 charters of Hassan and 9 charters of Raichur will be auctioned. In the second slot, a total of 49 charters including 26 charters of BUD-06, 17 charters of Shimoga and 6 charters of Yadgir will be auctioned.
July 28, 2026 (Tuesday): In the first slot, a total of 49 charters including 25 charters of BUD-3, 10 charters of Belgaum North and 14 charters of Uttara Kannada have been scheduled for auction. In the second slot, bidding will be held for a total of 42 charters including 22 charters of BUD-7, 12 charters of Bellary and 8 charters of Bagalkot.
July 29, 2026 (Wednesday): In the first slot, a total of 45 charters including 13 charters of BUD-4, 26 charters of Tumkur and 6 charters of Koppal will be auctioned. In the second slot, a total of 58 charters including 33 charters of BUD-8, 11 charters of Chikkaballapur and 14 charters of Mysore Rural will be auctioned.
July 30, 2026 (Thursday): In the first slot, a total of 49 charters including 12 charters from Davangere, 10 charters from Vijayanagar, 12 charters from Chitradurga and 15 charters from Mandya will be auctioned. In the second slot, a total of 55 charters including 9 charters from Vijayapura, 7 charters from Chamarajanagar, 31 charters from Dakshina Kannada and 8 charters from Gadag district will be auctioned.
July 31, 2026 (Friday): In the first slot of the last day, a total of 48 charters including 15 charters from Kolar, 19 charters from Dharwad, 3 charters from Kodagu and 11 charters from Belgaum South will be auctioned. In the second slot, the e-auction process will conclude with a total of 43 charters including 11 charters from Bangalore Rural, 13 charters from Mysore City, 11 charters from Bangalore South and 8 charters from Udupi.
