Driven by the initiative of Hon’ble Mr Justice B. Veerappa, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Executive Chairman, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, having regard to the object and reason of the RERA Act and given to understand that there is an element of scope for settlement of cases pertaining to K-RERA(Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority) and K- REAT (Karnataka Real Estate Appellate Tribunal) and with the guidance and expertise of Hon’ble Mr. Justice B. Sreenivase Gowda, the former Judge, High Court of Karnataka and the Chairman, K-REAT, and with the Co-operation of Kishore Chandra, Chairman K-RERA , for the first time in the Karnataka, during January 2022 discussion were held to take up the litigations pending in K-RERA and K-REAT for settlement before National Lok Adalat organized by the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi.
Accordingly, since February, 2022 pre-litigation sessions were held both in the K-RERA and K-REAT under the aegis of KSLSA and within a short span of time, i.e., by 12.03.2022, a commendable work was turned out, which resulted in settling quite a good number of litigations pending before K-RERA and K-REAT, bringing cheers to both parties, especially homebuyers who had invested their hard earned money to own shelter “HOME SWEET HOME”.
