Bengaluru, June 22, 2025 – In a spiritually uplifting event that brought together thousands in a solemn call for peace, ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill successfully conducted the Mega Japa Yajna for World Peace on Sunday, June 22, beginning at 5:30 AM.
Held on the auspicious day of Ekadashi, the yajna witnessed 1008 devotees, each chanting 108 rounds of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. The collective chanting amounted to more than 18.8 crore holy names of the Lord, offered with deep devotion for the welfare of the world.
The event was led by Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman and mentor of the Global Hare Krishna movement and President, ISKCON Bangalore, who revived this age-old spiritual tradition to counter the growing unrest and anxiety of the modern world. The serene atmosphere of Vaikuntha Hill provided the perfect backdrop for the intense chanting, which lasted over 12 hours and created a spiritually charged environment throughout the day.
“This was not just a spiritual event, but a movement of inner awakening,” said Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa. “In a time of global uncertainty and division, this yajna sent out powerful vibrations of peace and unity.”
The chanting was performed in complete discipline, with participants observing Ekadashi vrata (fasting) as they meditated deeply on the Lord’s names. The yajna symbolized both personal purification and a collective offering to promote global harmony.
