To mark the milestone implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), the Ministry of Labour & Employment organized a massive national rollout today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed approximately ₹2,400 crore in incentives directly to beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the main event from Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This nationwide initiative is set to formalize and secure employment for over 15 lakh persons.
The event was attended by Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Minister of State Sushri Shobha Karandlaje. Karnataka emerged as a key focal point for the rollout, hosting regional events across 24 designated venues (13 in Bengaluru and 11 across the rest of the state).
In Bengaluru, the EPFO Regional Office, Malleswaram, organized the screening event of PM-VBRY disbursement by the Prime Minister at the ESIC Nursing College Auditorium. The event was held in the presence of R. Ashoka and Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, Members of Karnataka Legislative Asssembly alongside EPFO Zonal Head Mrs. Vaishali and Regional P.F. Commissioner Mr. Mihir Kumar.
Karnataka hosted concurrent regional events across 24 distinct venues. The state capital, Bengaluru, served as a major focal point with 13 dedicated locations, spanning key industrial, commercial, and technology corridors including Bellandur, Central Bengaluru, Electronic City, Indiranagar, Koramangala, Malleswaram, Peenya, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, and Yelahanka, along with three separate events situated in K R Puram (Whitefield). Broadening the initiative’s reach across the rest of the state, 11 additional events were organized in prominent districts and cities. This widespread regional presence includes two venues each in Bellary and Hubli, alongside localized programs in Chikamagalur, Gulbarga, Mangaluru, Mysore, Raichur, Shimoga, Tumkur, and Udupi.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also interacted directly with young beneficiaries. The programme at Seshadripuram First Grade College Auditorium was inaugurated by S.R. Vishwanath, MLA, Yelahanka Assembly Constituency, who elaborated on the salient features of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana.
At the event held in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, S.R. Vishwanath, MLA, Yelahanka, Bengaluru Urban, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He shared the dais with Ravi Meena, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I,Kumar Rahul, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, and the Principal of Seshadripuram First Grade College.
A total of 283 participants attended the programme, including 206 beneficiaries, 77 employers, representatives of industry associations, public representatives, senior State Government officials, and officers and staff members of EPFO.
