Bengaluru, 11th July 2022: The Regional Conference on “Bringing Citizens, Entrepreneurs and Government Closer for Good Governance” kickstarted here today.
Speaking at the curtain-raiser event, Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, Principal Secretary, DPAR AR, Karnataka said, “The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, and the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (AR), Government of Karnataka have organized the conference.”
“The conference will be addressed by Jitendra Singh, MoS Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, and Basavaraj S. Bommai, Chief Minister of Karnataka at the valedictory session between 11 AM -12 PM tomorrow at Hotel Shangri-la” he added.
Dr. Amar Nath, Additional Secretary, DARPG, said, “Given that Bengaluru being a technology hub and start-up capital of both India and Asia, comprising leading entrepreneurial clusters and unicorns, the conference plans to bring together prominent entrepreneurs, and startup founders who have engaged with the government on one platform. We are trying to incorporate technology for better delivery of services. For a citizen, the delivery of services in an integrated manner is most important.”
The objective is to connect with the best minds, from across disciplines to find new ideas that would bolster good governance.
The conference held several sessions on administrative reforms, private sector & good governance, replication of best practices, and benchmarking governance.
Curtain raiser event: July 11th, 2022
Curated interesting sessions were held with startups and corporate with speakers who have done significant work in both government and corporate sectors. This is being done for the first time in any Regional Conference on Good Governance. GOI has curated the other panels. These include Pratik Pal, CEO Tata Digital, Mario Fernandes, India Public Sector Head and Partner, BCG, Hari Menon, Country Head, Gates Foundation India, and Gaurav Taneja, National Director, Public Sector, Ernst & Young.
The highlight of July 12th, 2022 :
1. The keynote by Sridhar Vembu who has built a Unicorn Zoho which largely operates in Rural Tamil Nadu and is a unicorn without a dollar of any VC funding. Both of which are rare!
2. There is a drone demonstration and workshop by Aarav Unmanned Systems and a presentation on the Bangalore Drone Mapping experience by Munish Moudgil.
3. Start-ups – Fibroheal, Banashree Renewable Energy Systems, STEMpedia, and Karpine will participate in the conference.
4. The Startups and Government panel will comprise Sujeet Kumar, Co-Founder UDAAN, Kunal Prasad, Co-Co-Founder Cropin, Rishi Agarwal, Founder and CEO, Teamlease RegTech, Sandeep Dutta, Chief Practice Manager, Fractal.
5. There is a visit to the GOK-NASSCOM Start-Up Warehouse and the RBI Innovation Hub, presentations by startups who work intersect governance and government, and showcasing of Karnataka’s E-governance initiatives, etc.
6. Several top officials from across the country who are engaging day today with administrative reforms and good governance including District Magistrates from the cutting-edge field level will present and deliberate at the conference.
