BBMP Schools/Colleges to Reopen from May 29, 2025
Bengaluru, May 28:
The BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) has announced that all its educational institutions — including nursery schools, primary and high schools, pre-university colleges, degree colleges, and postgraduate institutions — will reopen from May 29, 2025, as confirmed by the Special Commissioner of the Education Department, Suralkar Vikas Kishor.
Admissions for various classes for the academic year 2025–26 are already underway and will continue until June 20, 2025. Interested students may enroll in the BBMP school/college nearest to them.

Students admitted to BBMP schools/colleges will be provided with the following facilities free of cost:
Notebooks, textbooks, uniforms, shoes and socks, school bags, sweaters
Mid-day meals (for nursery, pre-university, undergraduate, and postgraduate students); milk, boiled eggs, bananas, and chikki (for nursery children)
Play materials and seating mats (for nursery children)
Smart classrooms to facilitate quality education, and computer training (via computer labs)
Provision of clean drinking water in the interest of students’ health.
Scholarships: ₹25,000 each for students securing 85% or above in SSLC (Class 10) exams -₹35,000 each for students securing 85% or above in 2nd PUC (Class 12) exams
The general public is encouraged to enroll their children in BBMP schools and colleges and avail themselves of the comprehensive educational facilities offered by BBMP.
