The Mango Mela organized at Lalbagh in collaboration with the Horticulture Department and Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Limited was inaugurated on 30.05.2025 at 11.30 am in the presence of Ramalinga Reddy, Transport Minister and other officials.
Farmers from about 10 districts have participated in the mango fair. About 63 mango varieties and 10 jackfruit varieties have been displayed at the department’s exhibition stall.
Foreign varieties such as the Japanese “Miyazaki”, the famous Philippine variety “Bruniking”, the Thai variety “Red Ivory”, Xavier, Maya, Tommy Atkins, Kent, Kensington and our state’s GI Tag variety “Kari Ishad” are exhibited at the mango fair.
Famous hybrid varieties from the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research were also showcased. Mango by-products like Mango Bar Squash, Mango Pulp and Pickles were showcased.
A total of 104 stalls have been set up for the sale of mangoes, 13 stalls for the sale of jackfruit, 2 tamarind stalls and 18 stalls for the sale of other products in the Mango Mela. The sale of mangoes and jackfruit will be held from 30.05.2025 to 24.06.2025 for a total of 26 days.
