The Department of Handlooms and Textiles, with the aim of recognizing and honoring the handloom weavers of the state who have immense skill, excellence and technology in the handloom weaving profession, has organized the 12th National Handloom Day and the State Level Handloom Weavers Award Ceremony for the year 2026 on 7th August 2026 at 11.00 am at the Kondaji Basappa Auditorium of Shantigriha Bharat Scouts and Guides Central Office on Palace Road near Maharani Science College, Bangalore.
The program will be inaugurated by Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and will be presided over by Minister Rizwan Arshad in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar.
The Textile Development Commissioner and the Director of the Handloom and Textiles Department have requested the public, including all media friends, to participate in the award ceremony in large numbers to make the program a success, the release said.
